South Pacific Laser Masters

The annual South Pacific Laser Masters (SPLM) regatta was held from 25 to 28 July 2014 at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and attracted 60 sailors, including 8 from New Zealand.  The warm Queensland winter weather was welcomed by sailors from New Zealand and the southern states.  Conditions were generally light and the race officials did a great job in getting the races underway each day with close racing in both fleets.  Competition was strong for the coveted cylinder trophies with New Zealand apprentices Matt Blakey and Scott Leith coming out overall winners in the standard and radial fleets respectively.

The overall results and further report can be viewed at the QLA website here.  The division placings were:

Standard rig
